Pickled Pepper Books is a specialist children’s bookshop, cafe and events space in Crouch End, North London.
In the week we host preschool activities and after school run Young Illustrators and a lively book group. Most weekends you can meet an author or illustrator, experience some theatre or come along to a story time.
We also work with a wide variety of schools, organising author visits for all ages and supplying reading resources. For more information see our Schools page.
Pickled Pepper Books was established by parents Steven Pryse and Urmi Merchant in 2012, providing a family friendly environment in which to experience the tactile nature of choosing books for and with kids. Our staff team has grown to include Abi Smith, an actor/director/playwright, Tanaka Mhishi, writer and performer and Rosa Georgiou. Graham Wade and Charlie Hine are our resident illustrators, bringing a fun and open approach to our illustration classes.
