Pickled Pepper Books is a specialist children’s bookshop and events space in Crouch End, North London.
Note: Our café is no longer offering drinks due to COVID-19. We hope to bring the café back for everyone in the future.
In the week we host preschool activities and after school run Young Illustrators and a lively book group. Most weekends you can meet an author or illustrator, experience some theatre or come along to a story time.
We also work with a wide variety of schools, organising author visits for all ages and supplying reading resources. For more information see our Schools page.
Pickled Pepper Books was established by parents Steven Pryse and Urmi Merchant in 2012, providing a family friendly environment in which to experience the tactile nature of choosing books for and with kids.
In September 2021 we opened a pop up at the Culture Palace in Enfield Town. This is a wonderful community arts space where we collaborate with The Dugdale Theatre, Enfood Cafe & The Museum of Enfield. Our managers, Tara Pahari and Freddie Ruddock both programme children's book based events, theatre, workshops and storytimes in each respective shop. Check out our events pages for more information.

If the answer is yes to all of these get in touch as we are looking for a group of people to start blogging/vlogging about books we love! Hopefully you will love them too. You can either be an individual (with a parent who says it's ok) or a class with a teacher. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or pop into the shop and have a chat!
