Evie and Lottie are twin sisters, but they couldn't be more different. Evie's sharp and funny. Lottie's a day-dreamer.

Evie's the fighter, Lottie's the peace-maker. What they do have in common is their Jewishness - even though the family isn't religious. When their mother gets a high-profile job and is targeted by antisemitic trolls on social media, the girls brush it off at first - but then the threats start getting uglier.

. . What We're Scared Of is a taut thriller, a tale of sibling friendship and rivalry - and a searing look at what happens when you scratch beneath the surface.

Sensitive and an eye opener

I am reading Keren David's book at the moment and beginning to read it with my twelve year old son. He has a lot of questions about prejudice and racism, especially since recent events. These questions are so hard to answer but I feel this book really says it better than I could. Keren David's writing is sensitive to the subject but also absorbing, really giving a good portrayal of teenagers and how they think as well. We love the fact she signed it too. I really recommend this to any reader and particularly as the mother of a nearly teen.
